The Butterfly’s Evil Spell was the first show I worked on as a stitcher in the costume shop at Keene State College. It was also my first show working as the head of Wardrobe. While I sewed several zippers, linings, and hems on pieces for this show, the most notable construction work I did was on the Butterfly’s bodysuit.

For the butterfly, I hand-syitched feathers cut from fabric scraps all over a nude bodysuit. This process took several hours and resulted in a very cool, but very delicate look. Due to the garment’s fragile nature, as Wardrobe Chief it was my job to arrive to call early before every show to add back feathers where ones had fallen off the night before.

I was assigned to drape and construct the fur vest for one of the beetle characters.
