The first show I had the opportunity to work on at the Peterborough Players was their 2021 production of Our Town in downtown Peterborough, NH. It is thought that Peterborough was Thornton Wilder's inspiration for Grover's Corner, NH, the fictional town that is the setting of the play. As such, Our Town is special to Peterborough Players, and this production was the company's eighth time producing it.

During production of the show, I assisted the Scenic Charge in woodgraining 23 sheets of luan and several miscellaneous trim pieces for the set. Due to some technical difficulties outside of my control, none of these pieces ended up in the final set of the show, but I include them here, as they are still a great example of my work.

The painting process for Grover's Corner's barn walls started with a white base, followed by lines of dry-brushing with occasional, very light wet-blending of grey paint. Sporadic lines of dry-brushing and blending with a brown paint were added before the job was finished off with a scattering of wood knots, painted using a dark brown paint with a small brush.

Process photos are highlighted in the photos below.

Also of note, I applied the woodgrained paint treatment to the brown table in the production photo at the top of this page.
